Venus Transit: Goddesses in My Lens

The year is 2117. (My ego likes to think Zook Book Nook will still be on the Internet, if there is an Internet still in existence.)

Dear Great Great Grandchildren,

Venus is crossing your sun today. Its path links you to your Great Great Grandmother, Kimberly Zook, who tried to see this planet 105 years ago. No she did not have solar-filter glasses. No she did not build a contraption to view it. No she did not find an astronomer.

She did, however, have a camera, and this is what she found in front of her lens:

the goddesses of love and beauty
Venus
(your Great Grandmothers)

And once we took the party indoors, the third little Venus appeared, and as you can see your Great Grandmother and your Great Grandmother's sisters were not only beautiful but radiant with love of life and love for one another.

Your Great Great Grandmother loved these three little girls more than life itself. And she has one hope, one prayer for you: that you too on this day in 2117 will feel so alive with love in your heart as she felt so blessed to feel 105 years ago.

May the sun shine as brightly for you, too!
